Functional Health have been providing NDIS support for people with Neurological, Intellectual & Physical Disabilities since 2018 when the NDIS was rolled out in South East Queensland. We have had the pleasure of assisting those living with neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis manage their symptoms and disease progression as part of our NDIS group exercise program and provide many other NDIS support in one on one sessions in clinic, home or at pool facilities.
When you have been accepted for the NDIS, you will be able to access support that fit within your plan. Depending on your plan structure, you may be able to make these arrangements yourself or your advocate may be able to assist you. Once an Initial Assessment is completed, the Functional Health Team will develop a service agreement, detailing your rights and what to expect from Functional Health, as part of our service.
As an accredited NDIS provider, Functional Health can provide both Physiotherapy & Exercise Physiology under the Capacity Building funding pools: Improved Health and Wellbeing and Improved Daily Living.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), is an Australian National Government Scheme that facilitates care and support for Australians under 65, living with disability. NDIS was approved in parliament in March 2013 and was rolled out strategically across Australia between 2016 & 2020. The core principles of the NDIS include giving people with disability choice and control, over the decisions that will affect them in a culturally appropriate manner, empowering them to engage within their community.
NDIS can facilitate support and services that assist with everyday activities, rehabilitation/recovery and community engagement. These supports are provided by NDIS providers under direction of the participant or their advocate.
